From our initial chats with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation in May 2022, the Sowden House was a no-brainer choice to unveil our collection. Built by Lloyd Wright in 1926, this Mayan Revival gem is a time-traveling masterpiece in LA's architectural history. It's surreal to think that Maya Brenner is now part of its legacy. This was one of those "pinch-me" moments—dreamt it, now living it. Guests arrived by walking up the stairs to the teal copper gate beneath the distinctive jaw-like entrance. Once inside, they hit our renderings room, soaking in all the inspo Maya drew from. The courtyard showcased our two collections: The Virtues Pendants, inspired by Wright's organic principles, emphasizing harmony in architecture and nature, comprising four necklace styles. And the Skylight Collection, a tribute to Wright's brilliant incorporation of skylights, featuring a necklace and a stunning set of hoop earrings. As guests entered the primary bedroom, they were greeted by a captivating food display courtesy of Simple Life Things, a feast for the senses that perfectly complemented the ambiance of the Sowden House. This seamless blend of artistry and flavor created an unforgettable, immersive experience.Then, refreshments in the primary bathroom, featuring a silver bathtub doubling as an icy drink holder. Complete with a tranquil koi pond and, of course, delicious Juliet wines.The grand finale happened in the exclusive gifting suite, where guests explored the Maya Brenner x Frank Lloyd Wright Collection alongside collaborations with other brands. From the chic tote bags by LOQI to the sophisticated tea towels from KAF, every item celebrated the power of partnership. Completing the ensemble were Paint by Number kits, note cards from Galison, tea from Tea Forte and glassware from Culver, each exemplifying Frank Lloyd Wright's enduring impact on modern design.
