Kimberly wears her Maya Brenner necklace every day. It holds the initials of her daughters, the initial of an angel baby, and a diamond added in remembrance of another pregnancy loss. Each detail was added for a reason, and together, they tell the story of her family.
Her necklace began as a gift from her husband during their first Christmas after a traumatic pregnancy loss. At the time, it included the initials of their twin daughters and the initial of their angel baby.
It was a beautiful gift, but more than that, it gave Kimberly a way to keep all three of her children close in one piece she could wear every day.
As their family grew, her necklace grew with it.
When Kimberly and her husband welcomed another daughter, they added her initial through our Add-A-Letter Boutique. The service allows customers to send their Maya Brenner necklace back to us so a new letter, charm, birthstone, or diamond can be added to the original piece. Because the stories behind personalized jewelry rarely stay exactly the same.
Later, after experiencing another miscarriage, they added a diamond to honor that loss and the baby they would always carry with them.
“It is my most meaningful piece of jewelry and I wear it every single day,” Kimberly shared.
What we love about Kimberly’s necklace is that it was never meant to stay frozen in one moment. It began with one chapter of her family’s story, then made room for the chapters that followed.
Kimberly also shared that adding to her necklace over the years felt just as special as receiving it in the first place.
“Customer service was amazing every time we needed to add to it, and it looks just as beautiful today as when I first got it.”
That is exactly why we created the Add-A-Letter Boutique. Our personalized pieces are handmade in Los Angeles from real gold, designed to be worn often, loved hard, and added to as life changes. Sometimes that means celebrating a new baby. Sometimes it means honoring someone in remembrance.
In her note to Maya, Kimberly wrote:
“Thank you for creating beautiful pieces with real gold that can last a lifetime.”
Kimberly, thank you for sharing your story with us. We are honored that your necklace has been there for so many meaningful chapters, and that it continues to hold your whole family close.
