Betting on Herself: Celeigh's Story

From: Altadena, CA.

When Celeigh looks back at the early days of the pandemic, what she remembers most is the quiet.

She was living alone in a small condo in Los Angeles, single in her 30s, healthy but deeply aware of just how alone she was. Like so many people, Covid brought fear and uncertainty. But for Celeigh, it also brought a stark realization. Her household was just her. If she got sick or needed help, there was no one else in the next room. She would have to rely on herself, navigating a global crisis on her own.

Instead of letting that fear take over, Celeigh chose to turn inward. To take all of that anxiety and channel it into learning how to care for herself in a way she never had before.

She signed up for Italian language classes over Zoom. She enrolled in an online Yale lecture course. She downloaded a workout app and ordered weights through the mail. She found recipes she had always wanted to try and taught herself how to cook, slowly and imperfectly, learning through trial and error. Cinnamon rolls from scratch. Dough floured across the counter. Evenings spent studying on the couch before online quizzes.

Somewhere in the middle of all of it, Celeigh realized something important. She liked herself, but she had never fully loved herself. Not in the way that meant trusting herself. Not in the way that meant believing she was capable and deserving of the life she wanted.

During late night internet scrolls, she started looking for something to give herself. Not just a gift, but something that would honor this chapter and the strength she was discovering in being alone. A gentle reminder of her strength and newfound self-love.

That is when she found our Asymmetrical 14k Gold Heart Charm Necklace.

It became her companion during long, quiet walks. During nights spent studying and mornings spent cooking from scratch. It was there through all the small moments that slowly added up to something bigger.

Today, Celeigh still wears her asymmetrical heart every day. She often receives compliments on its beauty and uniqueness, but her response is always refers back to her WHY.

“The most important relationship I’ll ever have is with myself. And I am betting on her.”
