Wrist-Wrapped Memories of Dad: Jordan's Story

From: Lompoc, CA.

When Jordan looks down at her wrist, she sees more than gold letters. She sees her dad. She feels his presence. And even for just a moment, she feels a little less far from him.

A mom of two, Jordan owns two Maya Brenner pieces, each tied to the people who matter most.

Her first piece was a push present from her husband: a personalized Letter Necklace with the initials of her hubbs, her two children, and her oldest child’s birthstone. “I truly never take it off,” she shared with us. “It holds my whole heart.”

But it's her second piece that means the most.

In February of this year, Jordan lost her dad to cancer. He was only 60. “He was my best friend, the best Ampa (grandpa) to my kids, and the person who got me through life,” she wrote. “Our family is closer than anyone could imagine and losing him has truly broken us.”

His passing was fast and deeply painful. The kind of loss that leaves everything changed.

To honor him, Jordan, her mom, and her sister each chose a Letter Bracelet that simply says DAD. Just three letters, but they carry a lifetime of love.

“I look at it every day, multiple times a day,” she told us. “It’s as if he is still with me.”

The photo Jordan shared was taken at the lake, a place her family cherished. “It was our absolute favorite place on earth,” she said. A place full of laughter, memories, and now, a little more quiet. But her bracelet, like the ripples on the water, keeps his presence near.

To Maya, she added:

“Thank you for creating this bracelet. Losing my dad so young was truly nothing I ever imagined. We were told he was going to be okay. This was the 'good' kind of cancer. We miss him so much it truly hurts. But having this piece of jewelry on my wrist really brings me peace and calmness.”

Jordan, thank you for sharing your heart with us. We are honored to be even a small part of the way you carry your dad with you. Your story is a reminder of why we do what we do.
