Rachel’s letter necklace started with three initials: her own, her husband’s, and their first daughter’s.

She ordered it after becoming a mother for the first time, choosing a piece that could hold the three of them together in a simple, everyday way. Dainty, personal, and easy to wear, it quickly became one of her most treasured pieces.

“I love how dainty, simple and classic it is,” Rachel shared. “And it’s incredibly durable. I never take it off!”

Then, this summer, Rachel and her husband welcomed their second daughter. With a new little person to love came a new initial to add to her necklace.

Through our Add-A-Letter Boutique, Rachel was able to send her original necklace back to us and add her daughter’s initial to the piece she already wore every day. No starting over. No replacing the original. Just making room for the newest member of her family, exactly where she belonged.

“The necklace continues to hold more meaning after this year,” Rachel shared. “We welcomed our second daughter this summer and I was able to add her initial to the necklace. It’s something that reminds me how special my family is to me. They are always with me.”

That is one of our favorite things about a personalized necklace. The first version can mark a moment, but it does not have to be the final version. Families grow. Stories change. A piece you loved at the beginning can grow right alongside you.
