Love Never Leaves: Esther's Letter Bracelet

From: Canada.

Some stories are not easy to tell. They carry with them love and loss, grief and hope, heartbreak and resilience. Esther, one of our dear customers, shared hers with us, and it is one that reminds us of the unbreakable bond between a mother and her children.

After the sudden loss of her eldest child, Esther’s world shifted. “The grief was crushing,” she told us. “Nothing made sense anymore. I needed something to hold onto, a reminder that even in this unbearable pain, there was still purpose. I was still a mother. I still had little ones here in this world who needed me.”

In the midst of that grief, Esther chose to create a piece that could carry both her memories and her love forward. She designed a custom Maya Brenner letter bracelet with the initials of her four children, including her son who had passed. In the center, she placed a diamond, his birthstone.

But over time, that diamond became more than a birthstone. For Esther, it became a marker of the “before and after” in her life. It represented the moment when everything changed, but also a reminder that love continues. “This bracelet has become my daily reminder: that he will always be my boy, and that I still have beautiful reasons to keep going.”

Her daughters are her reasons. Their laughter, their joy, and their need for her presence give her strength. And with each glance at her bracelet, Esther is reminded of both the child she carries in her heart and the children she holds in her arms.

“Grief like this doesn’t have an endpoint. I know I’ll never move on, but I am learning to move forward,” Esther shared. “This simple, elegant piece of jewelry helps me do that. It reminds me that love never leaves, even when someone we love does.”

For Esther, her bracelet is not just gold and diamonds. It's a small but powerful symbol that keeps her grounded in both memory and hope. “Thank you, Maya Brenner, for creating something that doesn’t just tell my story, it helps me survive it.”

We are so deeply moved and honored that one of our designs could hold this much meaning. Esther’s story is a powerful reminder of why we create jewelry, not simply to adorn but to hold memories, carry love, and give comfort in life’s hardest moments.
