A Necklace with a Heartbeat: Tabatha's Story

From: Newmarket, NH.

Some jewelry is just jewelry—beautiful, shiny, and lovely to wear. But some pieces are more than that. They hold memories, emotions, and the stories of our lives, just like Tabatha's custom gold necklace.

Tabatha’s necklace is a daily reminder of her journey to bring her son, Hudson, into the world. Diagnosed with Ovarian Failure before the age of 30, Tabatha’s path to motherhood was anything but straightforward. After multiple rounds of IVF and the eventual use of an egg donor, her son, Hudson, was born 10 weeks early---weighing just 2 pounds. To add to the challenge, Hudson spent 63 days in a NICU located in another state.

Despite the distance, Tabatha never missed a day. Every morning, without fail, she would make the drive to the hospital, spending every waking moment she could with her tiny son. She would sing to him and soak in every precious snuggle. Those days were a mix of darkness and beauty—a time when she wrestled with feelings of her body having failed to carry Hudson to term, yet found solace in the extra two months they got to spend together, earth-side, during his earliest days of life.

Whenever Tabatha faces a tough day, she finds herself playing with her necklace, and just like that, the weight of the world feels a little lighter. It’s a small thing, but it carries a world of meaning—a simple, beautiful way to keep Hudson close, no matter where life takes them.

For Tabatha, this necklace isn’t just an accessory; it’s a piece of her heart, a symbol of a journey that was anything but easy, but absolutely worth it.
